SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Department arrests 77-year-old man for Molestation of a Juvenile
The Shreveport Police Department announces the arrest of 77-year-old Gerald Deakin Jr. on one count of molestation of a juvenile.
The arrest follows an extensive investigation initiated in April 2023, led by the diligent efforts of Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Detectives. Gerald Deakin was taken into custody by the Shreveport Police Warrant Unit.
The Shreveport Police Department is committed to safeguarding the welfare of our community, particularly the most vulnerable among us. We take allegations of this nature with utmost seriousness and pursue justice vigorously.
Deakin faces severe legal consequences if convicted, with a potential sentence of up to 99 years in prison. Investigators with Shreveport Police will continue to work diligently to ensure that justice is served.
