Traffic In Bossier Could Get Really Crazy This Sunday

That obstacle could get even more challenging for several hours this Sunday, March 10.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just issued a notice to motorists that beginning on Sunday, March 10, there will be intermittent shoulder closures on various bridges and overpasses on I-220 westbound from the I-20 interchange to the Red River in Bossier Parish.

Of course, we all know that all commercial vehicles such as 18-wheelers are prohibited from driving through the I-20 reconstruction zone in Bossier City and are relegated to using I-220 to move through the area, so any slowing of this increased traffic slow, will make things a lot more difficult.

Watch Out For Maintenance Crews This Sunday On I-220 Westbound

Such is the case for this Sunday as DOTD maintenance crews will be working from approximately 7:00 am to 3:30 pm to remove trash and debris from the bridge decks along this section of I-220 westbound.

Please be aware that personnel and necessary equipment will be on site, so motorists are strongly urged to drive with caution through the area while these operations are underway.

This DOTD Project Could See Changes Should Bad Weather Move In The Area

As with all DOTD projects, this work will be performed weather permitting, so there is a possibility that inclement weather could postpone, lengthen or change the times of this work.
