The teams are practiced, the field is painted, the television and radio broadcasters are set up. All that remains is a pep rally/parade... and a spirited game to be played.

Tomorrow (Friday 12/28), shortly after 1 o'clock... the Advocare V100 Independence Bowl will kick-off at Independence Stadium between the Ohio Bobcats, and the first ever bowl bound University of Louisiana-Monroe.  You'll hear all the action right here on 1130 the Tiger starting at 1pm.

Tonight there is a pep rally and parade scheduled for 5pm at the Louisiana Boardwalk.  Players, coaches and fans from each university will be featured along with cheerleaders, marching bands and Mardi Gras floats.  The event is free and open to the public.

Tomorrow, there will be a Fan Fest held at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum on the Fair Grounds.  The Fan Fest opens at 9am and is free and open to the public.  There will be inflatables, interactive games, photo opportunities, local food and live entertainment.

Kick-off for the game is scheduled for shortly after 1pm on Friday.

Both teams are 8-4.  It's the first ever bowl game for ULM, led by head coach Todd Berry.  Ohio has six previous bowl appearances but only one win.  That win came in last year's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl under current head coach Frank Solich.
