How Did The Polls Treat LSU Baseball Today
This weekend was full of ups and downs for the LSU Baseball team. The season was supposed to start on Friday night against Air Force, but Mother Nature didn't play along. So the Tigers had to pull a double-dip against Army on Saturday to kick off the season.
Then on Saturday, Jared Poche pitched the first individual no-hitter in LSU since 1979 as LSU swept both games against Army.
On Sunday, the team wrapped up a full weekend of wins as they beat Air Force, to wrap up the weekend 3-0. So how did the polls treat them today? The Louisiana Radio Network has that:
"LSU is ranked anywhere from second to fifth in the latest college baseball polls after winning three games this past weekend. LSU’s pitchers only allowed two earned runs and the Tigers crossed the plate 25 times. Senior second baseman Cole Freeman led the way with six hits and two doubles.
The Tigers are at UNO tomorrow night. The Privateers are also 3-0. Caleb Gilbert will start on the mound for LSU."
