The inaugural High School State Team Bass Tournament hosted by the Association of Louisiana Bass Clubs is this Friday, May 3 at Cypress Bend State Park on Toledo Bend.

To sign up and get in on the fun, nglers must be 14-to-18 years old enrolled in high school.

ALBC president Dan Touchet said, “We are very excited about the addition of a junior division ,it is a win-win situation for the association as well as the kids. We got a lot of positive feedback when we were kicking this idea around. Now, we just need to get teams to commit.”

The winning team gets a a three-foot trophy for the high school. Each member of the winning team will receive a plaque and rod covers.

All competetors get lots of baits from companies like V&M, Rat-L-Trap, Bass Assassin, Zoom and Big Bit along tith t-shirts, gift cards, Academy fishing towels and back packs. Weigh-in is at 3 p.m. Friday at Cypress Bend.
