It's that time of the year where we all love to hear stories that just make us smile. Here's something that happened earlier this month.

The McKinlay family out of Yelm, Washington were conversing on the front porch of their home when their tiny shih tzu dog, named Scamp, slipped under the fence which borders the front yard from the street.

As Scamp ventured down the long, dark road, a the whole family soon heard a "yelp" noise and the sound of screeching tires. As the family rushed out to check on the status of Scamp, they noticed there was no heartbeat and heard no breathing coming out of Scamp.

As the father of the McKinlay clan told the children that their dog passed away, they began to cry. The whole family was prepared to bury the dog the following morning.

As they prepared to bury Scamp, they all noticed the dog sitting up! The family soon rushed Scamp over to the closest vet! The vet feared Scamp despite the survival, would not be able to survive for long.

The McKinlay family was determined to do whatever it took to make sure Scamp would be able to celebrate Christmas with them!

After many dollars, and surgeries, Scamp was soon reunited with the family!

My advice to everyone out there on the Christmas holiday is to cherish everything and everyone around you, because no one on Earth is sure if that will be the last time you see that person, or in this case, a dog.

Merry Christmas, ya'll!
