St. Patrick's Day is one of those fun holidays where the main thing you do is drink alcohol. In fact, even if you're not Irish (I am) you can claim to be of Irish descent just so you can get wasted.

The tradition for this festive day is also to wear green for good luck. Otherwise people can come up to you (even strangers) and pinch you as hard as they want to.

The wearin' o' the green and the drinkin' o' the green beer also goes with the eatin' o' the corn beef and cabbage. Cabbage is green, so it's for good luck. I guess the corn beef just tastes good with it.
