Geek'd Con, Shreveport's comic con, unfortunately had to miss the 2020 show due to the COVID pandemic restrictions around the state. But the show is back on for 2021! The show's return will be August 13th-15th at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Before the pandemic, Geek'd Con had become one of the biggest pop culture events in the region. With guests like Michael Rooker, LeVar Burton, Elvira, Peter Mayhew, Chris Sarandon, and more.

The 2021 lineup looks like one of the biggest ever for the event. Looking at the lineup for this year, you'd have no idea that the entire show had to be scrapped last year.

This year Geek'd Con will be highlighted by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Alice Cooper.

Yes, Alice Cooper has played concerts in Shreveport regularly since the 1970s, but this isn't a one hour set. Alice Cooper will be live on Saturday and Sunday, in-person, to meet fans, sign autographs, and take pictures.

In addition, the guest lineup includes Jason Mewes (Jay from Jay and Silent Bob fame), Peter Facinelli (Twilight movies), Emily Swallow (The Armorer from Star Wars' The Mandalorian), Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore), Murr from Impractical Jokers, as well as guests from Harry Potter, Marvel's Avengers Endgame, Supernatural, the Food Network, the SyFy Channel, and more.

You can see the whole guest lineup here.

As far as COVID protocols go, there are some that are still in place for the Shreveport Convention Center. The show will continue to work with officials as we get closer to August to ensure all COVID policies that are in place at that time will be followed. As of right now, that means masks are mandatory, but occupancy is at 100%.

But because of the COVID restrictions that were in place when the show started planning, there will be a rebuild to the vendor layout, and changes to programming (based on restrictions, there are no plans for panels at this time).

When it comes to the layout, the biggest changes will involve vendors. Now vendor booths are going to be in "pod" formations in an effort to maximize social distancing. These "pods" will be built with four 10x10 (or 8x8 for Creator Booths) booths together, separated by 8-foot-tall pipe & drape on all inside dividers.

Vendor booths for this year's event are currently on sale, and you can find more info at ShreveportGeeks.com.
