I ran across a gold mine on YouTube when I found old films from Shreveport events from decades ago.

I've watched this soapbox derby race video over and over again, but still can not make out any landmarks indicating where this was. It has to be some sort of hill, but I can't really tell if this is a rural or residential area. Where do you think this is?

Do you know anyone who can help us figure out where this is? Know anyone who might have been there.

Why don't we do soapbox derby's anymore? Too dangerous for children, I guess. This sure looks like fun.

Soap Box racing is still popular and there are still big time competitions every year featuring 3 racing divisions. These races are for boys and girls, ages 7 through 13. They can compete in pretty simple, home built cars or purchase kits from the All-American group.
