I love randomly stumbling across fun-facts about Shreveport-Bossier like this.

I'm assuming you're the same way, since you're reading this article. Shreveport-Bossier is blessed with more history than most, and that means it's not too uncommon to discover something interesting that you didn't know about our  hometown.

That was the case for me this weekend when I played a song at a wedding then got hit with a truth-bomb that blew my mind. I have played Sam Hunt's "House Party" too many times to count at weddings over the years. Yet, never once was I told about the song's awesome tie to Shreveport-Bossier.

Generally when our area is tied to something music-related from he past, it's tied to the city of Shreveport. After all, Shreveport's musical history rivals that of any city in the country. However, today's golden nugget is directly tied to Bossier City, so celebrate a little Bossierites, this ones for you.

When I was growing up in Shreveport-Bossier, my mom would take me to Planet Fun on Airline drive. Now, I need to stress the importance of a Planet Fun trip. For me, a trip to Planet Fun was a big, big deal. It was not a regular trip by any means, and a trip to these holy grounds was usually meant to signify something important like a birthday party or a great report card. Thinking back, I remember how awesome and magical those trips felt for little me.

Maybe that's one reason I was so excited when I heard the news of the "House Party" music video.

A friend of mine told me the awesome story of how Sam Hunt, back in 2014, stopped by Planet Fun in Bossier City with a simple request. He loved the location so much, he asked the owners of Planet Fun if he could use their arcade/laser tag for an upcoming music video. The owners gave him a big thumbs up, and didn't ask for payment in return.

My first question was, of course, why in the heck was Sam Hunt in Bossier City? Well, it turns out that the music video itself might have the answer. In the video, we see Sam Hunt and his crew bouncing around shows all over the country. The video for "House Party". ironically, takes place during a tour. It would appear while traveling through Louisiana, playing in Bossier City in late 2014, Sam Hunt stopped by Planet Fun for some fun with his crew, and stumbled across a perfect location for his music video.

Check it out and see if you can spot Bossier City's Planet Fun!
