Here we go again with with Daylight Saving Time. Don't forget to reset your clock before you go to bed this Saturday night.

Now how does this go again? Do we set the clock back an hour or forward in the spring? Let's see if we can figure this out.

Here's what we need to do this weekend to stay on track:
While I'm writing this, we're all on Central Standard Time here in Louisiana. That will change to Daylight Saving Time this Sunday morning at 2:00 AM.

Here's an easy way to always remember when to set our clocks back or forward.

Daylight Saving Time always begins in the "spring", so we SPRING FORWARD and set our clock ahead one hour.

Daylight Saving Time ends in the "fall", so we FALL BACK and set our clack back one hour.

So, this weekend we will spring forward and set our clocks ahead one hour. And there goes that hour of sleep that we gained during the winter months.

How did this stupid time stuff get started in the first place?

Though mentioned by Benjamin Franklin (so it was his idea) in 1784, the modern idea of daylight saving was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson and it was first implemented during the First World War.
