Today is the 70th birthday of The Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

This man is a living legend, the greatest pro wrestler of all time, and a pop culture icon. He is one of the closest things we have to a unanimous national treasure in our country. He has a custom suit collection,  he's had a top podcast, and even had rap songs written about him. He's even been in the locker rooms of NFL teams to pump them up.

During Ric Flair's legendary career, he's made many stops in the Shreveport and Bossier City areas. He made multiple appearances during the territory days, and then later made appearances with WCW and WW(F)E after the opening of the Century (Tel) Link in Bossier City.

His final match for WWE in Bossier City was in 2007 on an episode of Monday Night Raw. He faced Kenny Dykstra, ad guy young enough to be his son. It was a short match, with nothing truly spectacular, but Flair did get the win, in his final match in our area.
