The brackets for the LHSAA Class 5A and 4A tournaments are set to begin on Monday and Tuesday. Several area schools will get to host games in Round One.
The top ranked LSU Tigers won their sixth in a row by holding off a late rally from Northwestern State to win 9-6 Wednesday night in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have four more games left in their six game homestand including three this weekend with Auburn.
The nationally ranked LSUS Pilots Baseball team wasn't playing around in Tuesday's Cross-Town rivalry with Centenary, winning 16-0 with a season high 20 hits.
The Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks practiced Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming ABA playoffs which will once again be held at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum.

The Demon baseball team put up a season high 13 runs and 17 hits en route to shutting out Mississippi Valley State at Brown-Stroud Field in Natchitoches.
