One trip passing by Cargill or Walbrook or any one of the many Little League or Dixie baseball fields in the evening hours and it's easy to tell that it's baseball season here in the Arklatex.

Young men and women take to the fields every day in dreams of one day becoming the next Derek Jeter or Jennie Finch.

Of course, we must thank all the countless men and women who volunteer uncountable hours to train these young champions as coaches.

Also on the scene are the other "unsung heroes," the umpires.  Old "Blue" often does his job, not for the money, but for the love of the game and for our kids.

Course, most often, they're the butt of many jokes and angry stabs, but this guy has got to be the best we've ever heard of.  There's no way you could watch him in action and call the game boring!

So, for all you ump's, this one's for you.
