The annular eclipse, in which the moon passes in front of the sun leaving only a golden ring around its edges, was seen in the western U.S. late Sunday afternoon and in Asia early Monday.

Annular Solar Eclipse Japan 21st May 2012

Live feed from 'Base Camp' at Mount Fuji. Poor weather there and even worse at the top. They did have another camera in Wakayama and another Japanese user recording from a different location.

Rare! RING OF FIRE 5/20/12 -Slow Motion

The "ring of fire" is a partial solar eclipse when the moon partially blocks the sun. From this latitude, we saw more of a "cresent of fire". Since this was filmed with a high speed camera at 300 fps, you can see many small insects buzzing around. These are not UFO's or motherships. :) None of this is still photographs as you may have seen in other videos.

This occurred near the end of the day as the sun was going down and could only be observed in a FEW places in the world! The sunlight was eerie-looking, and reminded me of how the sunlight looks when there is a forest fire and there is a lot of smoke in the air.
