49ers QB Alex Smith Moving to Chiefs

Alex Smith has spent the last eight years with the san Francisco 49ers but he is getting a fresh start now as the Kansas City Chiefs will acquire him from the 49ers.

Smith, a veteran quarterback and the No. 1 overall draft pick from 2005, still considers himself a starter. The Chiefs hope Smith can help turn things around for them.

The deal becomes official on March 12, that's when the NFL’s new business year begins.

Smith remained behind the scenes when he lost his job and watched as San Francisco returned to the Super Bowl for the first time in 18 years.
