This week on the Tigerbait Tailgate we're preparing for South Carolina...mmmm.... tastes like chicken! Who wants some Chicken Fried Gamecock?

Here's what you'll need...

  • 30 crackers (I'm not talking about white guys, I mean Saltines)
  • 2 tbs all-purpose flour (All-purpose, kinda like we thought Russell Shepherd would be)
  • 2 tbs dry potato flakes (flakey, like the South Carolina QB)
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper (that was my nickname in high school... "Black Pepper")
  • 1 egg
  • 6 skinless, boneless gamecock breast halves (good luck chasing down that rooster)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying (fry Spurrier fry)

Here's how to make it...

  1. Put your crackers in a ziplock bag and crush em, as your crushing the crackers... imagine LSU crushing South Carolina.  Add the flour, potato flakes, salt, pepper and mix well.
  2. Beat egg in a shallow bowl.  Or beat South Carolina in Tiger Stadium.  Either is acceptable.  Dredge dat chicken in egg, put it in the crumb mixture bag and shake it till you make it.
  3. Heat dat oil in a deep fryer to bout 350 degrees.
  4. Fry chicken, turning frequently until Purple and Golden brown, bout 15 to 20 minutes.

Enjoy and Geaux Tigers!
