I wasn't sure how to celebrate the LSU/Alabama game in a tailgating dish. I mean should we have "Sabananas Foster?" Or "Peanut Butter and Bama Jelly Sandwhiches?" None of those sounded good to me, I want something hearty! Then I found this recipe for Elephant Stew!

Bama is known as the Crimson Tide, but their mascot for the last 80 years has been an elephant.  Sooooo....  try this recipe with your tailgate!

Here's what you'll need...

  • 1 medium elephant
  • 2 (50 gallon) containers of broth
  • 500 lbs of assorted chopped veggies
  • 1 can of Tomato Sauce
  • 2 rabbits (optional)

Here's how to cook it...

  1. Cut elephant into bite size pieces.  This will take a couple months.
  2. In a big ole kettle, simmer elephant pieces and veggies with enough broth to cover.
  3. Cook for a couple days.
  4. If you're expecting more company, include the rabbits, but only if neccessary.
  5. Most people don't like hare in their stew.
  6. Enjoy the stew and the LSU win over Alabama.
