His future with the Tigers was left in the air over the past few days but LSU’s NCAA compliance officer announced that he is permanently ineligible to rejoin the team.

Les Miles has changed his tune a little bit since last Friday. "I certainly am rooting for Ty in whatever his future is, but I'm not focused on that," Miles said after practice Tuesday. "I've got games to play, and I've got 104 guys I've got to be ready for. I know that this a very key time in his life."

LSU senior associate athletic director for NCAA compliance Bo Bahnsen said Monday that, "Tyrann Mathieu cannot return to the LSU football team at any time in the future."

There hasn't been a day that's gone by since Tyrann Mathieu was given the boot from the LSU football roster on Friday, where you haven't heard the Honey Badger's name in the news. After all of the drama that went down in Baton Rouge, would Tyrann Mathieu consider staying at the very school that told him to leave?

Yesterday (Saturday), LSU scrimmaged without Mathieu. The 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist was kicked off the team Friday. The reason was reportedly the latest of many failed drug tests since 2010.
