LSU Defeats Texas Southern 4-1

The LSU Tigers finished off this weekend at Alex Box Stadium at Skip Bertman Field in style with a 4-1 victory over Texas Southern.

Freshman Jared Poche, who pitched in his first collegiate start last week, was magical on the mound once again.

Poche pitched seven strong innings. He struck out seven batters, gave up four hits and only one run.

The highlight of the late afternoon took place when freshman outfielder hit a three run home run to give LSU the 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

The Tigers will stay in Baton Rouge on Tuesday night for an interesting matchup with UL-Lafayette.
