LSU Wraps Up Regular Season with Series Win Against Ole Miss at Alex Box

 

The LSU Baseball team has finished their regular season schedule with an SEC series win against 14th ranked Ole Miss. LSU won two of three from the Rebels at Alex Box on a weekend that saw the field at Alex box Stadium renamed for Skip Bertman.  Up next for the Tigers... the SEC tournament!

10,000 LSU Tiger Baseball Fans Attended ‘Skip Bertman Field’ Dedication at Alex Box Stadium

Alex Box Stadium was packed with 10,000 cheering LSU fans Saturday night when the baseball field was named “Skip Bertman Field.”

There is a new sign hanging above the press box that reads, “Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.”

LSU Baseball Beats Up on Ole Miss: Tigers Get Record 47th Win of Season!

The LSU Tigers got a 7-1 victory over 14th ranked Ole Miss Thursday night and picked up their 47th win of the regular season, equaling the mark of the 1986 LSU team that won 47 regular season games in a 59 game schedule.

LSU Baseball Gets Record Win Against UNO!

Considering the rich history earned by the LSU baseball program, it's a "BIG DEAL" when an LSU team does something no other LSU team has done before. Those aren't my words, those are the words of head LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri! The Tigers earned their 46th win of the season Tuesday night, 11-2 against the University of New Orleans.

LSU Baseball Clinches SEC West! Takes 2 of 3 from the Aggies in College Station.

For the second straight year, the LSU Tigers have clinched the SEC West Division Title.  The Tigers took 2 of 3 from Texas A&M in their final road SEC series of the season.  LSU is now 21-6 in league play and outright champions of the SEC West.

LSU Baseball Loses First Series Opener to Texas A&M after Rain Delay!

After a 1 hour 45 minute rain delay, play final began in College Station between the 3rd ranked LSU Tigers and Texas A&M. LSU lost their first SEC series opener of the season 2-1 in front of a sparse crowd at the rain-soaked Blue Bell Park.

Former LSU Player and New Orleans Saint Randall Gay Arrested in Baton Bouge

Randall Gay, who played cornerback for LSU and the New Orleans Saints was arrested at the Bulldog Pub, 4335 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge on Thursday around 1:45 a.m.

A woman, Desha Penco, was also arrested when she tried to kick out the window of the police car.

LSU Baseball Sweeps 19th Ranked Florida!

Baseball is hard to figure. Last week, then 2nd ranked LSU lost their first SEC series of the season to then 10th ranked South Carolina. The week before that, South Carolina was swept by Florida. This week, 3rd ranked LSU swept (and I mean swept in a big way) 19th ranked Florida. The Tigers swamped the Gators 18-6 on Saturday's game 3.

LSU Baseball Gets 40th Win of Season: 7-3 over McNeese!

The LSU Baseball team won 7-3 over McNeese St. (20-22) Tuesday night in Alex Box Stadium.  It's the Tigers 40th win on the season, they've won 26 straight over in-state opponents.

The LSU football program had a record weekend at the NFL draft, with nine players selected by NFL teams, the most ever in a single draft from LSU. The football program also had two players arrested over the weekend.

LSU Baseball Goes Down to South Carolina, Loses First Series of Season

The 2nd ranked Tigers lost their first SEC series of the season this weekend to 10th ranked South Carolina, falling on Saturday and Sunday to the Gamecocks in Alex Box Stadium.

LSU starter Kurt McCune had a rough first inning on Sunday, giving up two runs and another in the second. LSU had only six hits and couldn't plate any runners. But LSU Baseball fans need not panic!
