One of the Oakland Athletics "aces" Bartolo Colon (5-6, 3.92 ERA) was dealing last night. Colon led the A's offense to shutout the Texas Rangers 2-0.

Colon went for eight innings, gave up five hits, and served the Rangers five strikeouts. His career record over the Texas Rangers to 18-6, earning him the most victories over any team in the MLB.

The only highlight in this game came from the Oakland side of the dugout, as center fielder Yoenis Cepedes singled, doubled and tripled, but fell just short of hitting for the cycle.

Who knows what got into Colon last night. Perhaps he was listening to Adele before the game?

The Rangers' Colby Lewis (4-5, 3.38 ERA) was charged with the loss. Lewis allowed just two runs and six hits, struck out three, and didn't allow a walk in this game. Not a bad showing.

With the Angels' loss last night to the Mariners, the Rangers still hold a 4-5 game lead over the team.

The Rangers will play one more game in the city by the bay, this afternoon at 2:35 p.m., then they return to Arlington and for a rematch with the San Francisco Giants, a rematch of the 2010 Fall Classic.
