Willie Nelson to be Honored by Farmers
The redheaded stranger is being inducted into the Agricultural Hall of Fame. Farm Aid founder Willie Nelson is being honored for his outstanding work with farm aid and agriculture.
Nelson will be honored in a ceremony to take place on the morning before Farm Aid's 2011 concert scheduled for August 13th in Kansas City, Kansas.
Nelson organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 with John Mellencamp and Neil Young to raise money for family farmers and to draw attention to their economic struggles. The Agricultural hall of Fame's inductees include George Washington Carver, John Deere and Thomas Jefferson.
