Who Makes The Best Cheeseburger In Shreveport/Bossier?
September 18th is a day set aside to honor America's favorite sandwich. It's National Cheeseburger Day!
If you'd like to celebrate NCD, where do you go to find the best cheeseboyga in Shreveport/Bossier? I posed that question on Facebook yesterday, and received numerous responses, not the least of which was "Me!" But I have a feeling that Patricia and Danielle might be a little taken aback if 100 or so hungry residents showed up at their houses expecting to be fed. So, we decided to list the Top 5 places our respondents mentioned that actually make burgers for a living.
Twisted Root
One of the newer burger restaurants in the Ark-La-Tex, Twisted Root has quickly found a fanatical following. You can get 'em frou-frou or down home greasy spoon--there's a cheeseburger for every palate. And if their wide selection of beef burgers isn't enough for you, try a cheeseburger made with elk, buffalo, camel, or any of several varieties of exotic meat.

Papa & Company.com Papa & Company
I've been hearing about Papa & Company since I moved to Shreveport at the first of the year. This neighborhood burger joint is only open from 10:30 to 4 Mon-Thu and Saturday, and 10:30 to 5 on Friday because their bundles of beef on a bun sell out so fast.
Griff's
This small chain of burger stands started out in Wichita, Kansas, in 1960. Griff's has only 3 locations in Louisiana--Ruston, Bossier City, and Shreveport. Depending on your appetite you can have the Giant, the Double Giant, or the Triple Giant cheeseburger.

TripAdvisor.com Striker's Cafe at Holiday Lanes
The self-proclaimed home of "the best burgers in Bossier City", there's nothing quite like a beef patty sizzling on an open grill in a bowling alley. It's the simple things that make life great. Try Marlene's Favorite--it's a 6 oz. burger served with melting Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms.
Whataburger
It is just inconceivable that we could leave this southern institution off the list. (Besides, my wife would kill me if I did.) To this day I say it's the grilled, buttered buns that make the Whataburger the mouth-watering delight it has always been.
