
Violent Start to the New Year in Shreveport
Shreveport police are investigating three separate shootings that happened just as the New Year got underway. The first shooting happened just after 2 am. A man was driving on I-220 when someone opened fire on his vehicle. The victim of that shooting suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and multiple lacerations on the face from broken glass.
The next shooting happened on Virginia Avenue around 2:15. A man was walking to his car when someone opened fire on him. That man was also shot in the leg. His wound is said to be non-life threatening.
The third shooting happened in the 400 block of East 66th Street around 4 am. One or more suspects fired at least 26 shots at a home in that neighborhood. A man, a woman and two young children were inside the home. Luckily, no one was wounded in the incident.
All three shootings remain under investigation.
