
Unhitched Trailer Causes Several Injuries At Shreveport Bus Stop

A trailer jumped its hitch Thursday, careening into a bus stop and injuring several people.
It all happened a little before 4:30 PM Thursday afternoon in the 3700 block of Jewella Ave. According to Shreveport Police, 72-year-old Ray Rhodes was driving a Ford Ranger which was pulling a 16 foot flatbed cargo trailer. At some point, the trailer jumped the hitch and veered into a bus stop full of people. The bus stop was completely destroyed and five people, including a 7-year-old boy, were taken to area hospitals, none with life-threatening injuries.
So far, no citations have been issued, and the accident remains under investigation.
