The Honey Badger heads to Houston.

Former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu has signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans. He had been released by the Arizona Cardinals earlier this week. The contract with Houston is reportedly worth $7 million.

Mathieu is regarded as one of the best safeties in football, and after leaving Arizona, it was expected that he would find a long term contract elsewhere. Most experts didn't even consider Houston as a possible landing spot for Mathieu, which makes both his new home, and the length of the contract surprises.

For Houston, this is potentially huge. JJ Watt will be returning from injury, and will be alongside Jadeveon Clowney once again, to form one of the best defensive line combos in the NFL. Putting Mathieu in the secondary will create nightmares on multiple levels of the field for quarterbacks.

With breakout rookie sensation Deshaun Watson also returning at quarterback, and wideouts Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins on the outside, this Texans team has put together an amazing group of young talent, on both sides of the ball.
