Two Former LSU Tigers Take Another Step Toward Hall of Fame
Former LSU standouts Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca, along with former Destrehan High school football star Ed Reed, are among the 15 modern era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
This is Mawae's third time as a finalist for the Hall of Fame. Over his NFL career, he played for the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans. He was an 8-time Pro Bowl selection and a 7-time All Pro. He was a First Team All-SEC selection for LSU in 1991.
Faneca made his name in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even though he also played for the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets, he won Super Bowl XL with the Steelers. He also a 9-time Pro Bowl selection and 6-time First Team All Pro over his career.
This is Ed Reed's first trip to the final round of the Pro Bowl selection process, and to be honest, he has the best chance of the three to make it this year.
We find out who gets in on February 2nd.
