Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to Do Residency in Las Vegas?
It sounds like country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill might be taking a hiatus from their home in Nashville to spend a few months playing the strip in Sin City. Last week, the Las Vegas Sun reported that the country music power couple are close to signing a deal to play a series of weekend concerts from October 2012 through April 2013.
Of course, at this point, the news is all speculation. Robin Leach — former host of ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’ — is now a journalist for the Sun. He released the news of a supposed McGraw-Hill Las Vegas run after hearing that they are working on a deal to play several dates at an 1,800-seat theater on the strip.
If the king and queen of the honky tonk do end up signing the deal, they will be competing with Garth Brooks, who has a residency as a headliner at Steve Wynn’s Encore Theater. Brooks has had a successful run in Sin City, but it’s hard to say if his popularity can stand up to McGraw and Hill. Shania Twain is also planning to bring her country act to the strip, as she’ll begin a two-year residency at Caesar’s Palace in December.
For now, it’s hard to say if these rumors are true, but we’re hopefully. However, the husband/wife pair scrapped their plans for a tour together — and it could be that they canceled their plans to make room for Vegas. In the meantime, McGraw is gearing up to tour with Kenny Chesney this summer.
