Depending on how you look at it, the New Orleans Pelicans either had one of the most productive days in franchise history Wednesday, or... one of the costiest. Or both.
After keeping superstar Anthony Davis in the fold minutes after the NBA's signing period began just after midnight to the tune of $145 million, the Pelicans reached a deal with center Omer Asik for $58 million over five years. The team also signed the backup center, Alexis Ajinca to a four-year, $20 million deal.
