Daniel Murphy destroyed Chicago Cubs pitching and his New York teammates toe-ing the rubber took care of the Cubs hitters in a four-game sweep in the National League Championship Series.

Murphy homered for a Major League Baseball record sixth-straight post-season game with a laser shot to center in the eighth inning to finish off the scoring in an 8-3 win.  Lucas Duda hit a three-run homer in the first inning to squash the enthusiasm of the Wrigley Field faithful. Bartolo Colon pitched 1.1 innings to pick up the win, setting a record in the process----it had been 14 years and 12 days since his last post-season win---the longest time between "W's" in baseball history.

Toronto forced a game 6 with Kansas City in Kansas City with a 7-1 drubbing of the Royals.  Marco Estrada allowed one hit through seven innings to give the Jays battered relief corp a break.  Troy Tulowitzki had three RBI to pace the Jays offensive attack.
