Tim Fletcher: Byrd’s Barbaree, Jr Looking For Triple Crown

Byrd junior Phil Barbaree, Jr. is off to a great start in his quest to capture Junior Golf's triple crown.  Already in possession of the USGA Junior title and Rolex Tournament of Champions hardware, Barbaree, Jr. has a one-shot lead after round one of the Junior PGA Championship in Bryan, Texas after opening 72-hole event with a 5-under par round of 66.  Fellow Shreveport golfers, Nathan Jeansonne and Carter Toms each carded 75's to open play.

No junior golfer has ever won the three big events in the same year according to the Shreveport Times Roy Lang.
