It has been a violent and bloody night in Shreveport. Between 5:30 Wednesday afternoon and this morning, at least three shootings have taken place in the city.

The first incident happened around 5:30 Wednesday. This was an officer involved shooting. According to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator, the suspect ran from deputies after they attempted to pull him over for driving a stolen SUV. The chase ended at Jewella and Greenwood Road, where deputies, state police and Shreveport police were waiting. Law enforcement officials then opened fire on the man, killing him. Sheriff Prator said the suspect appears to have had a gun in his hand at the time of the shooting and that the officers appear to have responded appropriately. An investigation into the incident is on going.

Then, in the overnight hours, Shreveport police began investigating a shooting on Janet Lane. According to investigators, one man is clinging to life and a woman was wounded in the shooting. Some reports say anywhere between 20 and 50 shots were fired in the incident. The woman was shot in the arm, the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head. A search for clues and the culprit is on going.

Then, around 2:30 this morning, a man was shot to death on Hoyte Drive.Police say, a man was shot multiple times while sitting in his car outside of a home. Police have detained multiple witnesses and are attempting to locate the gunman.

All these shootings remain under investigation.
