The New Orleans Pelicans get a much needed day of rest today after winning three games in three consecutive days, a feat that had not been done since 1979.

New Orleans beat the Los Angeles Lakers 128 to 125 last night. Anthony Davis had 33 points and nine rebounds, while Rajon Rondo scored 11 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter.

Wednesday night, they took care of the Boston Celtics 108-89, and on Tuesday they beat the Dallas Mavericks 115-110.

Davis has been playing at an MVP level since DeMarcus Cousins went down with a season ending injury. The veteran help from Rondo has created a winning dynamic in New Orleans that looks like it can continue into the playoffs.

Their schedule has some big time names to wrap up the season, but with just a couple weeks left, the team is in position to potentially host a playoff series. They'll have to deal with teams like the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Golden State Warriors down the stretch, but they also have teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angels Clippers mixed in. The Pelicans SHOULD make the playoffs at this point, but nothing in this year's NBA is a given.
