The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are riding high after a 21-13 win over Florida Atlantic in last night’s unusual Friday game.

Tech is is now 6-2 on the year, making them bowl eligible once again. Last night, Bulldogs Quarterback J’mar Smith had a clean game, with 217 passing yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. Tech has not lost a game when Smith throws at least one touchdown while throwing no picks. However, in 244 attempts this year, Smith has now thrown 6 interceptions, compared to only throwing 5 total interceptions last year on 409 attempts. But Smith only threw for 16 touchdowns last season, and already has 11 touchdown passes this year.

Bulldogs running back Jaqwis Dancy went for 116 yards on the ground, and added one touchdown.

Tech now sits back to watch the rest of Conference USA this weekend. Their eyes will likely be fixed on UAB, who will be in El Paso today to take on UTEP. Tech needs UAB to drop 2 Conference USA games to give the Bulldogs a chance at the Conference USA West crown. The UTEP game will be one of the last chances Tech has for UAB to trip up.

Tech faces Mississippi State next week.
