The Houston Texans Racked Up Most Fines in the NFL – By a Large Margin
Houston Texans fans have a lot of things to be happy about - a franchise quarterback in CJ Stroud, a quality head coach in DeMeco Ryans, and back to back trips to the playoffs. After the Deshawn Watson fiasco from a couple years ago, things are looking up in Houston. They won the AFC South in 2024. They won a playoff game against the Chargers. And they gave the Kansas City Chiefs all they could handle before ultimately getting eliminated in the Divisional round of the Playoffs.
However, it's not all good news in Houston. In fact, you could say "Houston, we have a problem" when it comes to discipline from their players.
Houston Was the Most Fined Team in the NFL - By a Large Margin
All 32 NFL teams deal with fines and suspensions. It's just a part of the life in the NFL. Players & coaches can get fined for celebrations, Tweets, post game interviews...all kinds of stuff.
However, if you look at the lead leaders in fines & suspensions during the 2024 season, the Texans were far and away the worst offenders. And it's not like they had a bunch of small fines that just added up either. These were hefty fines for some pretty serious violations of league policy. In fact, the Texans were the ONLY team with multiple players in the 10 of players who paid the most in fines. On the total fines front, they more than doubled up the second place Chargers.
Below is the full breakdown according to Action Network Sports.
