The Texas Rangers have announced they will raise the stadium railing height as a safety precaution.  This,  after a father fell 20 feet from the railing while trying to catch a baseball for his son.

The father died.   There have been several incidents in which fans have fallen over ballpark railings.   Even though the Texas Rangers stadium rail heights already exceed regulations, the adjustments will be made.

Rangers President Nolan Ryan says the safety of fans is his top priority and this will raise the stadium's rails to the "highest standard in the United States at this time."
