Louisiana Tech is 7-and-2 on the year after a 9-4 win over Arkansas State, after getting behind right away Friday night.

The Diamond Dogs gave Arkansas State a 2 run head start in the top of the first, before evening that up in the bottom of the frame.

Tech added runs in the second and third to jump out to a 7-2 lead by the start of the fourth inning. Arkansas State tried to mount a comeback in the sixth inning by putting up a pair of runs, but Tech slammed the door on that, end ended Arkansas State's scoring for the rest of the night.

The Bulldogs were able to add another pair of runs in the bottom of the 7th to further extended their lead, before cruising through Arkansas State's last 6 outs.

For Tech, senior catcher Chris Clayton drove in a career-high four runs in front of a packed crowd at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston.
