‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Changed Pretty Much All Its Episode Titles
Stranger Things had the internet in a tizzy with Season 2’s announcement, simultaneously revealing nine cryptic episode titles. Well, so much for all your detective work! A new teaser reveals the list was completely overhauled, and apparently too spoiler-y for its own good.
If you’ll remember, the initial Stranger Things 2 announcement revealed that the sequel was far enough along to list its nine episodes: “Madmax,” “The Boy Who Came Back To Life,” “The Pumpkin Patch,” “The Palace,” “The Storm,” “The Pollywog,” “The Secret Cabin,” “The Brain,” and “The Lost Brother.” Most every one was applicable to footage and details we’ve gleamed thus far, but it seems Season 2 completely changed the listing; now revealed in a video game-themed tease:
Season 2’s new episode titles read “Madmax,” “Trick or Treat Freak,” “The Pollywog,” “Will the Wise,” “Dig Dug” and “The Spy,” with the final three titles apparently too spoilery to reveal. For what it’s worth, the video game theme remains overall, as now-discarded title “The Palace” referred to the arcade that serves as backdrop for “The Spy.”
Back in February, co-creator Matt Duffer offered some explanation for the placeholder titles:
Some of [the titles] are changing. Some of them we didn’t put because these people are smart on the f—ing internet. You’ve seen it with Westworld — they figured it out! I’ve seen videos analyzing the chapter titles and they’re right on a lot.
Time will tell why those final three needed their own spoiler protection, but what other secrets might Stranger Things 2 be hiding?
