In the second game of the doubleheader, LSU was looking to take both games of the day, following a big win in Game 1.

But by the bottom of the 6th inning everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.

To start things off, catcher Tyler Moore (making his very first SEC start) brought home Mason Katz, in the top of the 1st inning to make the score 1-0 early.

The lead was extended to 2-0 in the top of the 3rd inning when rightfielder Alex Edward brought home Raph Rhymes via the sacrifice bunt.

Tigers' Tyler Moore did it again, when he brought home another runner in the top of the 5th inning, making the score 3-0.

Onto the bottom of the 6th inning, the South Carolina Gamecocks' bats woke up against Austin Nola, when the scored a total of four runs in the inning! The runs were brought to you by Gamecocks' first baseman Christian Walker, when he launched a three-run homer into the pavilion of Carolina Stadium, then to the put the syrup on the pancake, shortstop Joey Pankake hit a triple, which score another runner, making the score 4-3!

The Gamecocks' went onto add another run in the bottom of the 7th, as rightfielder Adam Matthews plated a run. That made the score 5-3.

Tigers' Raph Rhymes was able to plate a runner, which brought the score down to 5-4, in the top of the 8th inning.

By the top of the 9th, Gamecocks' closer, Matt Price wanted to go home, and shut down the Tigers' in fashion, with the final score being 5-4.

By the end of today's game we will know where the Tigers stand in terms of overall SEC standings.
