Here’s a Free Business Idea for Bossier City’s East Bank District
Hear me out, because I really think this could work!
I am a big fan of Bossier City's East Bank District. There's always something happening, it's safe, it's clean, the food, libations, and service are great, there's plenty of parking and the business owners there are always looking for ways to give back to the community. You really can't ask for anything else... but I'm about to!
Last week I ran across a story about something they're doing in Minneapolis, MN for the American Humane Society and it's been sitting in the back of my head ever since. This new venture allows people to purchase what they're calling a 'Sidewalk Dog' pass for $30. The pass enables folks to visit 33 of the area's dog-friendly breweries and sample free beer. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Humane Society. Sure, we don't have 33 breweries in our area, but the East Bank District already has Flying Heart and soon they'll be opening the all-new Red River Brewpub.
But we don't have to copy what they did in Minneapolis exactly. The East Bank District has tons of outdoor areas, including Hurricane Alley behind BeauJax, Frozen Pirogue, Bayou Axe, Sugar Sheaux, etc... Why not sell a pass to sample different wares at each of the establishments that would allow you to bring your well mannered best friend along with you? Obviously, owners would have to clean up after their pets as needed. I know not everyone will be a fan of the idea and it's not something you'd want to do 24/7/365. However, you could do it on special occasions and bless our local rescues in the process. I'm even willing to pitch in and help! What do you think? Is this something we could get started in Shreveport-Bossier City?
