Shreveport Traffic Stop Finds 2+ Pounds of Meth, Gun, and More

Chalk one up for the good guys in Louisiana. A lot of dangerous drugs are off of the market in Shreveport today thanks to the Louisiana State Police, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

On February 22nd, officials with the Louisiana State Police conducted a routine traffic stop that began when they pulled over 45-year-old Misty Ott. Ott had reportedly been under investigation by the DEA Task Force focused on getting methamphetamines off of our streets. That task force is made up of law enforcement officials from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Shreveport Police Department and and the DEA.

According to the press release from Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, During the search of the vehicle stopped at LA-3132 and Jewella Avenue in Shreveport, police found a whopping 2.2 pounds of meth (1 Kilogram), a meth pipe, a loaded 9mm pistol, and $2,100 in cash.

The ArkLaTex Homepage reports that Ott was placed under arrest in the custody of the DEA, and is being charged with: Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of drug paraphernalia. She is reportedly sitting in the the Caddo Correctional Center on a $100,600 bond.
