Shreveport Police Shoot Man Who Attack Them with a Knife
Shreveport police officers are shook up, but safe after an altercation with a suspect in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood. The suspect tried to attack the officers with a knife on East Dudley when responding officers shot him.
The call came in at about 4:45 about a disorderly man in the 100 block of East Dudley. The man allegedly assaulted several AEP-SWEPCO workers who were in the area trimming trees. One of those workers was hit in the face.
At that point police were called and the suspect ran into a home, but he came out and tried to attack the officers with a knife when he was shot.
The man was taken to University Health. There's no word at this point on his condition.
Three Shreveport police officers are on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, which is standard procedure.
