The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team are about to wrap up their regular season. The team is pretty lucky, because this year's two final games are big for a couple of reasons.

First of all, these two games are at home. Friday and Saturday night will be played at George's Pond inside the historic Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport. Huge advantage for the Mudbugs, since the team leads in home game attendance across the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for this season. That's something the Mudbugs have been doing since they entered the NAHL almost 10 years ago.

The second part of this weekend's games that are a huge benefit to the Mudbugs is that they're playing against the Corpus Christi IceRays. This matchup is very important, because in the NAHL South Division standings, the IceRays are the team right ahead of the Mudbugs.

Currently, the Mudbugs are 3rd in the playoff standings, and the IceRays are 2nd in the standings. Neither of the teams have a chance to catch the Lone Star Brahmas for the top spot in the division, but the gap between the IceRays and Mudbugs is only 2 points. Which means the Mudbugs could catch and pass Corpus Christi for the #2 seed in the South Division playoffs.

That gives fans two reasons to head out to the games this weekend. Make sure the Mudbugs hold on to their attendance lead during the final weekend of the NAHL season, and to help the Mudbugs pass the IceRays for the #2 seed. You can get your tickets to help, right here.
