A vacant house fire in the Queensborough neighborhood Thursday night has some fire investigators suspicious of the circumstances.

It all happened Thursday night around 10:45 PM when Shreveport Fire was called to a house in the 3000 block of Catherine Street. According to Skip Pinkston, Chief of Special Operations and Safety, firefighters didn't have a lot of problems controlling the blaze.

Shreveport Fire Department Truck 8 arrived on scene at 10:49 p.m. and reported flames visible from the rear of the vacant home.  Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and confined the damage to a rear exterior wall of the home.  The fire was placed under control at 11:02 p.m.

Although there's not much damage, fire investigators say the circumstances around the fire seem a little suspicious.

The home was vacant and for sale at the time of the fire.  There were no utilities connected to the home when the fire began.  The damage to the home is estimated at $1000.00.  The fire is suspicious in nature and under investigations by the Shreveport Fire Prevention Bureau.

There were no injuries reported.
