Shreveport Named One of 2022’s Worst Cities to Raise a Family In
If you're raising a family, the experts at WalletHub.com say that Shreveport, LA is one of the worst cities in the country for families.
It's no secret that Shreveport has a bad reputation for crime, but WalletHub.com says it's also one of the worst places in the country to try and raise a family. In fact, according to WalletHub.com's research, Shreveport ranks 175th overall out of the 182 cities in the study.
Sadly, even Baton Rouge (#152) and New Orleans (#171) rank better when it comes to raising families when you compare them to Shreveport. WalletHub.com compared 180 cities in the United States across 46 metrics including the cost of housing, quality of education and health care, etc... to compile their findings. When you break it down, Shreveport ranks 120th in the study when it comes to family fun. We can live with that, but we ranked 178th when it comes to health and safety and that seems to be our real problem as a city. Shreveport was 119th for education and child care, 158th for affordability, and 149th when it came to socio-economics.
