If you haven't kept up with the hobby of trading cards during the last decade, strap in, because we're about to go for a ride.

Collecting sports cards, and even non-sports cards like Pokémon cards, is nothing like what it was like when I was growing up. I started collecting cards when I was really young. By high school, was normally buying dealer tables at sports cards shows to sell and trade cards. I was able to make a little bit of money, have a lot of fun, and learn a lot of lessons.

But the bulk of today's sports card hobby world really isn't for kids, or high schoolers anymore. The business has now evolved with that same group of people. Guys like me who used to set up at shows in high school are now adults...homeowners, parents, and still into sports cards.

Is The Sports Card Hobby Big In Shreveport?

If you really want to get a feel for the evolution of the sports card hobby, just look at the explosive growth of the Shreveport Card Show.

Just a few years ago, the Shreveport Card Show had 50-60 tables for a 1-day show. Then it grew to over 100 tables, and a 2-day event. But the explosive growth has continued for the event, which is now getting ready to embark on what could be the biggest sports card show in Shreveport history.

When Is The Big Shreveport Card Show?

This January, the Shreveport Card Show will move to the Shreveport Convention Center for the first time.

This version of the show will take place January 3rd and 4th, 2026. Instead of the 50 table shows from back in 2023, this will be a 350 table show! A massive version of what we've seen over the last few years.

You can get more details on this massive expansion with the Shreveport Card Show on Facebook.
