A bridge in Shreveport was found to be in bad shape this year.

City workers will be working to fix that starting this month. It's said that the bridge will be closed for up to 12 months. All the details on detours and re-openings have been noted in the press release seen below.

A spokesperson from the City of Shreveport released this:

"Effective Friday, December 20, 2019, the City of Shreveport will be closing the bridge on Valley View Drive due to structural erosion. The bridge is located one-half mile east of Mansfield Road. The City of Shreveport’s Engineering Department has a project established to make the repairs to the bridge with an estimated time frame of six to twelve months.  A detour will be established for the duration of the closure on the east side of the bridge from Valley View Drive to Wyngate Boulevard, then to West 70th Street."
