Who Dat? It may be the New Orleans Saints. They seem to be on a winning streak with fire in the belly of their leader,  quarterback Drew Brees.  Did you catch their playoff game against the Lions over the weekend?

The Saints destroyed Detroit 45-28.   Brees  torched the Lions for another  466 yards and three touchdowns,  adding to his already-impressive streak of performances this season.  He would go on to complete 33-of-43 attempts, while keeping deep passes at a premium.

The Lions offense had done enough to stay with the Saints, throughout the first three quarters.  It was the defense that had let them down, once again.  Though quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 380 yards and matched Brees' total of three touchdowns, the insurmountable odds of competing against Brees and a Saints' rushing attack that put up 167 yards on the ground, was more than the Detroit defense could endure.

Both teams went back-and-forth for the remainder of the half, the Lions' led at halftime 14-10.   But, it wouldn't stay that way.

As the second half began, the wheels began to come off for the Lions. Once again, the Lions' defense fell short, dropping several missed interceptions and allowing the opposing running game to annihilate them between the tackles.  The Lions fell behind quickly.

"Drew! Drew! Drew!"  That's was all you needed to hear in the Saints big playoff win over the Lions.

Here's the Who Dat Nation celebrating:

In other playoff action,  the Houston Texans have emerged as the strong team in Texas now.  Gone are the days of the Dallas monopoly.  The Texans won their first ever AFC playoff game over Cincinnati Bengals, 31-10.

It was the New York Giants over the Atlanta Falcons 24-2, and the other thriller besides the Saints win was the Denver Broncos led by quarterback Tim Tebow over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a tight one, 29-23.

Tebow was amazing.  You could almost say God was for Denver.

Next up in the divisional playoffs,  it will be the Saints taking on San Francisco Giants this Saturday at 3:30 pm; Denver against New England this Saturday at 7 pm;  Houston Texans against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday at noon, and the New York Giants taking on Green Bay this Sunday at 3:30 pm.
