Ryan and Farrah’s Son Arrested Again

Redmond O'Neal  was arrested Tuesday for alleged drug possession and violating probation after a Santa Monica police officer stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered heroin in his car, police said.

Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis said O’Neal, 26, was pulled over at Lincoln and Olympic boulevards after he ran a red light at about 8:15 a.m.

An officer found the heroin while searching O'Neal's car, police said.

O’Neal was being booked for the red light infraction, violating felony drug probation and possession of a controlled substance, Lewis said.

He was being held without bail, pending a court appearance.

The son of actor Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett has battled addiction since his teens and has been in and out of jail and rehab centers for crimes related to substance abuse.

O'Neal was temporarily released from jail in 2009 so he could attend his mother's funeral after she died of cancer.

While on probation in September 2008, O'Neal and his father were booked on suspicion of narcotics possession after a probation search at Ryan O’Neal's Malibu home.

The elder O'Neal pleaded guilty and received the option of completing a drug-diversion programs.

Redmond O’Neal was jailed in 2009 after he was found with heroin during a routine security check at the Pitchess Detention Center.
